The All-Russian project "Russian Art Award" was organized on the initiative of Russian and foreign representatives of the art industry. The purpose of the competition is to keep safe, develope and promote Russian art. The Russian Art Award is held in the main cities of the Russian Federation. We invite Russian and foreign artists, photographers, designers and masters of various directions who associate their work with great traditions of Russian art.

The Russian Art Award is a sign of respect for high ideals and adherence to great forms in Art.

The objectives of the project are to search for new names in art - artists, sculptors, designers, photographers, masters of decorative art, search for artists who work in a special style and who are able to create professional works that can decorate museum spaces and become pearls of art collections. Also, the objective is to search for talented artists, whose works make an outstanding contribution to culture and are united by the concept "Russian Art".

There are more than 200 experts who will express their opinion on works submitted to the project. Based on the points received, the best works will be revealed and the artists, who deserve status “Laureate of the Russian Art Award”, will be determined.
The Russian Art Award includes 38 nominations and 37 awards, symbolizing the artist's merits in following the aesthetic ideas of the Great Masters, whose life paths and works expand the horizons of Russian Art and were appreciated all over the world.
The exposition, the announcement of the results and the presentation of well-deserved awards will be held in Moscow, in the Moscow Center of Artists on September 30 – October 3, 2021.

In 2021 the following awards and certificates were instituted.

Masters of Russian Culture and Art:

1. Medal named after Andrei Rublev. "Spiritual revival of society and high achievements in the visual arts". Artists who have made a great contribution to the preservation of traditional iconography and temple architecture are awarded for their work and significant contribution to the spiritual art of Russia.
2. Medal named after Kazimir Malevich. "For search, experiment and innovation in art". Artists who give new opportunities to comprehend something familiar or relevant.
3. Medal named after Vladimir Tatlin. "For the ability to think modernly and the courage to realize the most innovative ideas". Artists are awarded for innovations and aspiration to find harmony in new technologies.
4. Medal named after Arkhip Kuindzhi. "For poetizing nature, flora and fauna". Authors are awarded for the masterful representation of landscapes, and for their subtle, lyrical attitude to the world around them.
5. Medal named after Mikhail Vrubel. "For understanding the world and internal life". Artists are awarded for their talent and depth of artistic comprehension in painting, graphic arts, sculpture, decorative and monumental arts.
6. Medal named after Vasily Surikov. "For the talent of visualizing historical events". Artists who have achieved great success in the visualizing pages of the great Russian history.
7. Medal named after Nikolai Rerich. "For achievements in philosophical reflection and symbolic understanding of art". Artists who work in the field of creating works of symbolic and visionary art.
8. Medal named after Sergey Konenkov. "For the talent of feeling shape and material". Authors are awarded for their poetic reflection of the world in sculpture.

According to the results of the exposition, members of the Advisory Committee (more than 100 specialists) will value the submitted works in several ways:

• mastery and technique of translating the idea,
• idea of the work.
In each nomination, according to the results of the voting, the artists, whose works were given the highest points, will be selected.
All artists who reach the final will be awarded and it can show the individual merits and achievements of each artist and the work he/she created.

The Russian Art Award is a significant prestigious event for all participants, organizers and spectators, as an important phenomenon in the cultural life of the country.

The ceremonial part of the results announcement and the presentation of well-deserved awards will be held in the Western wing of the New Tretyakov Gallery.
